PART II CRIME ANALYSIS

According the the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Uniform Crime Reports (UCR) Part II crimes in New Castle has dropped for the second year in a row. The FBI classifies crimes into two categories: Part I crime and Part II crime.

PART II CRIMES INCLUDE:

ASSAULTS NOT AGGRAVATED
FORGERY
FRAUD
STOLEN PROPERTY
VANDALISM
WEAPONS OFFENSES
PROSTITUTION
DRUG OFFENSES
OFFENSES AGAINST THE FAMILY
DUI
LIQUOR LAWS
DRUNKENESS
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
VAGRANCY
ALL OTHER OFFENSES (EXCEPT FOR TRAFFIC)
CURFEW AND LOITERING

The UCR shows that Part II crime spiked in 2013. A analysis of the Reports show that Drug offenses and DUI’s had the largest increase. The New Castle City Police Department Street Crimes Unit was formed in 2013 and could be a reason for the spike that year. Part II crimes has dropped for two years in a row.
