Part I Crime Rate Drops For 4th Year in a Row

According the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Uniform Crime Reports (UCR),  Part I crime has dropped for the fourth year in a row in New Castle.  The FBI classifies crimes into two categories: Part I crime and Part II crime.

Part I crimes include:

MURDER, RAPE, ROBBERY, ASSAULT W/WEAPONS, BURGLARY, MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT, ARSON, LARCENY

The UCR show that Part I crimes has reached a high in 2011 with 1,563 reported incidents and has dropped each year since down to 847 reported incidents in 2015.
