As you may be aware, the New Castle City Police has a new look.  In starting with moving the NCPD Headquarters to a new facility located at 303 East North Street in 2012, the Department is working hard to update appearances to match the professional services we provide to the community.  In addition, the NCPD has changed the look of our police vehicles.  The new graphics package provides additional safety to officers and motorists with larger reflective graphics on all sides of the vehicles.  Also the implementation of new emergency lighting packages provide brighter more visible lighting options to officers.

The NCPD will also be updating the Department Emblem.  The new NCPD emblem will be proudly displayed on department forms and paperwork as well as worn on the shoulders of our officers uniforms.  The new patch pays tribute to NCPD’s past, present and future.  The colors of navy and gold were worn by New Castle Officers in the 1960’s and 70’s.  Also the latin phrase “In Hoc Signo Vinces”, which means “in this sign you will conquer” is again proudly displayed on our patch.  The NCPD strives to conquer crime, wrongdoing and those that would impinge upon the rights, safety and security of the public we serve.  In the center of the logo is the Seal of the City New Castle.  Included in the seal is “Est. 1875” denoting the date of the incorporation on the City.  The new emblem represents the NCPD’s core values of Duty, Honor and Fidelity proudly.
